Investing in a new conveyor system, an industrial material transfer or handling application is not something to be done lightly. Conveyor systems are enormous, sophisticated equipment that must be chosen with care. There are several questions you should ask yourself before purchasing a new conveyor. You want to make certain that the belt conveyor you buy will provide the finest overall return on investment for your organization.
With competitive price and timely delivery, SINODA sincerely hope to be your supplier and partner.
Conveyor belt demand is driven by the progress of infrastructure operations as well as macroeconomic variables such as GDP growth. The eco-friendly conveyor belt is the current trend that has piqued the interest of industrial conveyor users. Self-cleaning capabilities are among the eco-friendly conveyor belts advantages, which tend to cut manufacturing expenses as well as waste.
A belt conveyor should serve you well for many years after youve paid for it.
A belt conveyor system that can fulfill both your current and future needs is the best investment you can make. Change is a given. However, dont buy a conveyor that wont be able to accommodate your future needs.
To establish a new conveyor, it is necessary to be able to remove, insert, and/or swap out conveyor modules. To avoid jeopardizing the integrity of the conveyor system, look for design choices that allow you to extend or reduce the conveyors length and add or remove inclines and declines.
Knowing what the conveyor system will be used for is a vital first step in selecting which one is best. Food processing conveyors will have quite different needs than those meant for robotics integration or just moving tiny boxes along a packing line.
Conveyor belts are also an important part of the conveyor system. Conveyor belts are typically the most expensive to replace. PVC conveyor belts typically last 18 months. Having to replace a belt every year or two might easily drain your maintenance budget.
Plastic link belting, on the other hand, can be quickly repaired without the need to replace the complete belt if damage occurs.
Conveyor belts and accessory replacements can take a long time if they are damaged. Conveyor systems that can be repaired quickly and easily without the need for expert staff should be sought.
Productivity might be impacted by downtime and maintenance issues in the conveyor belts. Find out what kind of upkeep your new system will require before you buy it.
The installation and maintenance of most belts, such as PVC, can be labor-intensive and time-consuming. Conveyors with tension-free belts are best. Good traction, wear, performance and service are guaranteed.
Self-tracking belt systems dont require constant tensioning or regular replacement, unlike ordinary conveyors.
Look for a conveyor belt system where fingers, hands, and loose clothing cannot reach any of the moving parts, such as chains, belts, and sprockets.
Belt conveyors that have no sharp edges and all moving parts enclosed or guarded are the safest to use.
Make sure the conveyor system you select can meet all of the following requirements. Conveyors are an investment that will pay dividends for many years to come.

Conveyors can be very simple or rather complex machines. Part of keeping them simple is having the knowledge and experience to know what questions to ask before they are ever designed. Some conveyor novices may still feel uneasy when trying to understand the basic functions, components, and terminology of complex conveyors and thats okay. Were here to help you understand the world of conveyors by asking questions to work toward a specific solution for you. In this blog, well be covering the 3 most frequently asked conveyor questions that we love to answer. So, without further ado, lets satisfy that curious mind and start with our first round of popular questions.
Yes, we certainly do! Pack Air doesnt have a catalog of standard conveyors to pick from. We have some standardized product lines for the basic equipment types, but everything can be tailored to meet your specific requirements. The capabilities video below, and our website show a good portion of our potential, however; if you dont see what youre looking for, connect with us. Our creative team of sales and applications engineers enjoy the challenge of thinking outside the box.
Plastic & Steel Chains and Modular Plastic Belts are generally designed with a catenary sag from the drive sprocket back to the return shoe. This sag in the chain is a critical part of tooth engagement in your conveyor. Either too much or too little can lead to premature wear of both the chain and sprockets and can also affect the daily performance of your conveyor.
While the exact distance varies from one chain type to another, in general, the sag depth from the bottom of the drive sprocket to the top of the return shoe or roller should be approximately 1-4 when running. Note that the catenary depth will increase when the conveyor is not running. Never pull a chain tight unless the conveyor is designed with an automatic take-up, in which case the chain tension is regulated. All chains do stretch (wear) over time, and this will cause the catenary to get deeper as the overall chain loop gets longer. If the catenary hangs below the bottom of the drive frame or rubs on the under guarding, its too long and chain links need to be removed otherwise damage will occur.
A good starting point in building a custom conveyor is determining the width of the chain or belt you need for your product. Depending on your product, it may or may not need to be completely supported on the bottom. A product in a carton, case, or one that has a rigid bottom probably doesnt need full-width support, but a multi-packed product in a loose poly wrap probably does. With literally thousands of different chains and belts to pick from, there are exceptions to these guidelines below, but some common widths are:
